years. I live on a ranch in Truly, Montana, with my husband Hugh. The ranch has been an inspiration for some of my paintings. I enjoy painting, creating, and developing the picture on canvas. "I like the surprise I get when it turns out the way I hoped. I want the viewer to get the surprise too and the enjoyment of what I see in my surroundings." Most of my paintings especially the watercolors, depict flowers. I like to paint soft colors because I think these colors are soothing to the eye. My oil paintings display stronger hues of color. When I paint, I try to get the saturation of the color to lie on the canvas and then highlight it to give intensity. The brilliancy of outdoor light is what I am trying to relay to my viewers. The visual attributes of things that result from the light they emit, transmit, or reflect help me in my paintings. You’re my guest in this imagery and I hope you enjoy my process. |
